Deleting your account
How to delete your EchoraIQ account, or a whole workspace, and what happens to the data when you do. The website and the EchoraIQ mobile app use the same account, so once it is deleted it can no longer be used in either.
1. Delete your account in the app
In the EchoraIQ mobile app, open Settings and choose Delete account. To confirm that it is you, enter your password or a current code from your authenticator app. Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and it can no longer be used to sign in on any device. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
If you created your account with “Continue with Google”, you may never have set a password. If you use an authenticator app with EchoraIQ, confirm with a code from it; otherwise, use Forgot password? first to set a password, then confirm with that.
2. If you belong to more than one workspace
Each workspace you belong to has its own account, even when they share one email address. Deleting removes only the account for the workspace you are signed in to. To leave another workspace as well, sign in to that workspace and repeat the steps.
3. If you own the workspace
A workspace must always keep an owner, so its last active owner cannot delete only their own account. If another active owner remains, you can delete your account as described above.
The last owner can instead ask us to delete the whole workspace. The app offers this on the same Delete account screen, and you confirm it in the same way, with your password or authenticator code.
Deleting a workspace is not immediate. We complete it within 30 days of the request and confirm in writing when it is done. It deletes the workspace for every member, together with the data listed in section 5.
4. Deleting by email
You can also ask by email, without the app. Write to contact@echoraiq.com from the email address on the account, and say whether you want your own account deleted or, if you are an owner, the whole workspace. We will confirm the request, complete it within 30 days, and confirm in writing when it is done.
5. What is deleted
When you delete your own account, we delete your sign-in record for that workspace — your name, email address, password, role, two-factor settings and passkeys — and your devices’ registrations for push notifications. If you signed in with Apple and you delete your account in the app, we also ask Apple to revoke the token Apple gave us for that account, and we delete the token and our link to your Apple Account even if Apple does not confirm the revocation.
When a workspace is deleted, we delete every member’s account; the connected social accounts and their stored access tokens; monitors; the follower counts and posts collected from X accounts you track; collected mentions and reviews; conversations and direct messages; the workspace’s posts and replies, including those scheduled or waiting for approval; your team’s internal notes, assignments and saved replies; uploaded media; notifications; credit balances; and the workspace’s settings. Before a workspace is deleted, we ask Apple to revoke every Sign in with Apple token we hold for that workspace, and we delete those tokens and their links to Apple Accounts even where Apple does not confirm the revocation.
Deleting data from EchoraIQ does not remove anything already published to a social network. Posts, replies and comments that went live there are held by that network, and you can delete them on the network itself.
6. What we keep, and why
Content belongs to the workspace it was created in. If only your own account is deleted, the posts, replies and approvals you made there stay with the workspace as part of its records. So do the internal notes and saved replies you wrote, and the assignments you made or received. They are deleted when the workspace is deleted. When you delete your account in the app, posts and replies you submitted that are still waiting for approval are withdrawn, so they will not be published.
The audit log is kept. It is tamper-evident, which means that an alteration to it can be detected. Audit log entries are not deleted when an account or a workspace is deleted, because they record what was done in the workspace, including the deletion itself. An entry identifies the person who acted by an internal account ID, and some entries also record details such as an email address.
Payment records are kept for tax and accounting purposes. If you are also an EchoraIQ partner, your partner account and your referral and commission records are separate, and deleting a workspace does not delete them. If email to your address bounced or was reported as spam, we keep the address on a suppression list so that we do not send to it again.
Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle, so a copy of deleted data may persist in an offline backup for up to 35 days after deletion.
